Pantone Color of the Year 2015 Announced

Pantone just announced the much anticipated color of the year for 2015… and the winner is…. Marsala Red! Pantone describes Marsala as “A naturally robust and earthy red wine” and goes on to say, “Marsala enriches our minds, bodies, and souls, exuding confidence and stability. Marsala is a subtly seductive shade, one that draws us in to its embracing warmth.”

Marsala is a color that, unlike Radiant Orchid before it, is appealing to both men and women. The rich, deep red color is also flattering to many skin types and serves as the perfect pop of color in everything from makeup and beauty to home decor and fashion.

I think this color is gorgeous and can see it translating into many areas in my life from my fashion to home decor. I can even see this being a positively lovely palette for a wedding or event! The earthy brown tone in this color make it both sophisticated and bold all at once. I wonder where we will see this color popping up in the next year? All of the lovely possibilities, I couldn’t help but put together a Marsala style board!

Wedding Inspiration Board

I recently got married and thought I would share the lovely concept board that I designed for my wedding. The color scheme was cypress green, peony pink, gold, and cream with subtle and very light peach, and yellow accents in the flowers etc. – I thought the colors were just perfect for my spring wedding. So, after scouring the internet for inspiration images, I put together this concept board that describes the feel that I wanted for our wedding day. The overall theme was ‘vintage garden’ and I wanted everything about the day to be very romantic and whimsical with a vintage flair.

I will be creating many more concept boards that I will hopefully be posting and sharing in the future! Hope you enjoy!
